2012 Pinot Noir, Tina Marie Vineyard

Ron Black and Kevin Brown worked together to bring forth an exceptional Pinot from the Tina Marie vineyard in Green Valley area of Russian River, Sonoma. While we classified this wine as Russian River, it could as easily been characterized as Sonoma Coast. The wine reflects much of the elegance of a coastal Pinot from the furtile vineyard soil combined with the wonderful cool evenings and hot days during the 2012 growing season.

In the glass you will find a light reddish-purple color and a wonderful nose that opens up over time. Aromas of red cherry and rasberry are notable immediately, with just a hint of spice. As designed and desired by Ron and Kevin, it is relatively light in weight and lean in overall style. It has great length in the glass, welcoming you over and over with each sip.

Ron and Kevin personally selected the best 777, 667 and 115 clone grapes, blended in perfect quantities into the first-ever Rio Crest, Tina Marie Vineyard Pinot. While Ron and Kevin started with six barrels, they eliminated two of the barrels because they felt they did not meet the quality standards set forth for this wine.

The result was 96 cases of exceptional Pinot, available after July 1, 2014 through the   allocation list and select Sonoma County restaurants only.

Priced at USD $104.00/bottle.
